Using the site

You may read, link to, quote and share anything published here. Quoting a paragraph with a link back is welcome and needs no permission.

What you may not do:

• Republish whole articles, in any medium, without written permission. Extracts with attribution and a link are fine.
• Use the content to train a model, or scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, without agreement.
• Present our work as your own, or remove disclosure labels from it.
• Use the Merxtio name or mark in a way that implies endorsement.

Editorial is not personal advice

This matters more than anything else on this page. Merxtio publishes general information and opinion. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is a personal recommendation.

We do not know your circumstances, your obligations, your risk tolerance or your jurisdiction. An article explaining how a savings product works is not a recommendation that you buy it. Where a decision has real financial consequences, take advice from someone regulated to give it who knows your situation.

Financial products carry risk, including the risk of losing money. Past performance does not predict future results.

Accuracy, and its limits

We check what we publish and correct what we get wrong. But prices, rates, specifications, availability and regulation all change, frequently faster than an article does.

Treat every figure as accurate on its publication date and verify it before acting. Articles carry their publication date, and an updated date where they have been revised, precisely so you can judge how stale a number might be.

If you find an error, tell us. Corrections are made in place and noted on the article, and it is the fastest queue we run.

Commercial relationships

Some articles contain affiliate links that earn a commission, and some are sponsored. Both are labeled at the top of the page, before the article body, every time.

Commission never determines a verdict, and sponsors do not see copy before publication. The full policy, including what we refuse, is on the partners page.

Buying through an affiliate link puts you in a contract with the merchant, not with us. We are not a party to that sale and cannot help with delivery, returns, warranty or refunds — that is between you and the retailer.

Links to other sites

We link out, including to commercial partners. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

The site is provided as is

We aim to keep Merxtio available and correct, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the content or from the site being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and in the UK and EU, statutory consumer rights are unaffected by anything on this page.

Your data

What we collect, and what we do not, is set out in the privacy policy. What is stored in your browser is on the cookies page. The short version of both: very little, and no tracking.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. Material changes will be noted here with a date rather than made silently.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Merxtio is established. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your own country of residence.
