About Merxtio
Analysis across technology, AI, finance and shopping.
Independent analysis of technology, AI, finance and shopping, written for readers in the US and Europe.
What we cover
Merxtio runs four subject desks and one analysis desk. The verticals cover their own ground; the news desk explains what a given week’s headlines actually change for the people reading them.
- Technology — Hardware, software and the decisions behind them.
- AI — Models, tooling and the economics underneath.
- Finance — Markets, money and the mechanics of both.
- Shopping — Buying advice that survives contact with the receipt.
- News & Analysis — The story behind the headline, across every Merxtio desk.
How we decide what to publish
The test for a Merxtio article is whether it changes what a reader would do. Not whether something was announced, and not whether it is trending — those are inputs, not reasons. A product launch is worth covering when the launch alters a purchase decision; a regulatory change is worth covering when someone’s bill or options move.
That rules out a lot of what the trade press publishes, and it is meant to. We would rather run four pieces a week that survive a year than twenty that expire on Friday.
Where we write from
Coverage is weighted toward the US and Europe, because pricing, regulation and product availability all differ by market and vague international coverage helps nobody. Where a story is genuinely global — supply chains, model releases, standards — we say so. Where it is not, we name the market and give the comparison.
Money, and how it works here
Some articles carry affiliate links, and some are sponsored. Both are labeled at the top of the page, before the article body, every time. Commercial arrangements never determine a verdict, and sponsors do not see copy before publication.
The full policy, including what we refuse, is on the partners and disclosure page.
Corrections
We correct errors in place and note the correction on the article. If something here is wrong, tell us — the fastest corrections come from readers who know a subject better than the writer did.
